Waitakere Gymnastics has been providing gymnastics classes to the public for more than 60 years. The club offers comprehensive and well-organised gymnastics programmes for children and adults of any ability. The Club focuses keenly on gymnastics skills, with a balance of fun, challenge and progress. We offer preschool, gym fun, beginner, intermediate, advanced classes, trix, tumbling, adult gymnastics classes, recreational competitive and competitive STEPS leagues, along with a fantastic school holiday programme four times a year.
The Club has a warm and friendly environment and we welcome family involvement in our Club. Our coaches are enthusiastic and ensure progress is made by each gymnast at any level of participation. We consistently strive to offer quality gymnastics classes to all ages and abilities.
Preschool classes offer a fun and safe environment for under 5’s to explore body movement and build self awareness and confidence. All classes require parent involvement as often kids need reassurance and help with the skills. Suits children 18 months up to 5 years of age.
This is a FUN approach to fitness developing body management and fundamental skills. Children are taught skills on every apparatus and learn at their own pace. All classes are mixed with boys and girls and all individuals are encouraged to challenge themselves. For 5-7 year age group.
Recreational classes follow on from Gym Fun classes. There are rec girls and boys classes based on age and skill. There are 3 types of classes - Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced. Gymnasts learn a variety of skills, flexibility, strength & apparatus work Suitable for kids aged 7 years and up.
Trix Kids is a fun recreational class with a base in gymnastics and parkour. Kids will learn to roll, jump, twist and flip. This is a fast paced, fun class in a safe environment designed to burn off energy, learn cool new skills and make new friends. Coaches will build confidence, strength and agility.
Build strength & learn how to do powerful tumbling during this dynamic class. Sessions last 1.5 hours and suits ages 7+. Children attending should have some previous experience doing gymnastics and know the basics and how to tackle the moves safely.
This trampoline class is an introduction to basic trampolining skills, developing special awareness while learning exciting new tricks. Suitable for 7+ years.
In true freestyle spirit mixing traditional gymnastics with free flowing movement and exploration. The perfect class to learn tricks and flipping!
TeamGym is an exciting style of group performance, recommended for participants aged 7 years and over. It is based on the popular international European TeamGym competition and encourages teamwork, creativity, originality and showmanship to provide the audience with an energetic, enthusiastic and dynamic performance.
Come along to our exciting classes for teens & adults. Build speed, explosive power parkour skills, agility & strength during these fun ‘self-driven’ classes. Qualified coaches are on hand to assist you with tips & tricks. The classes run for 90 minutes. All equipment is available – trampolines, apparatus, foam pit. Suits ages 16+ years.
Gymnasts work through levels 0, 1, 2 & 3 + open learning skills and routines. Kids compete at local competitions wearing a competition leotard and tracksuit. Typically classes are twice a week and require dedication to training.
This is the most disciplined, competitive league of women's gymnastics that requires a higher level of training and dedication with a higher number of training hours per week. Gymnasts compete at around 4-6 local, regional and sometimes national events.

We had our son's 8th birthday here - what an amazing, fantastic value venue! Lovely coaches, great gymnastics apparatus, spacious birthday room and we had the gym to ourselves. The kids had a blast - thank you!
This was recommended by a friend. I had been wanting to get my girl (just turned 5) into gymnastics so this was the perfect introduction to the gym and the staff for her. She loved it so much and the coaches were so wonderful and inviting that pick up time was the hardest part!!! We then put her in for term 2 gymnastics and she absolutely loooooved it! So much so that she wants to do it again next term so it will be back to checking the budget and hopefully get her back in there! She is looking so forward to the holiday program approaching 🥰
My son (3) has thoroughly enjoyed his first term of toddler gymnastics. We have seen a huge increase in his awareness of what his body is capable of, his confidence in risk taking has skyrocketed, and he is learning some wonderful physical skills and abilities. We’ve seen a huge improvement in his ability to focus, listen to instructions and take part in a group experience. The classes are well organised with fun and engaging warm ups and interactive circuits, with fantastic coaches who really engage with the children on their level. The classes are fun, safe, age appropriate and tailored to all abilities. We’re looking forward to term 2 as we’ve enrolled again.
My daughter loves this tumbling class. She looks forward to attending every week and has a great time .
I was extremely impressed with the patience of all the Staff. When we first started, our little girl was petrified. Honey allowed her to ease into the classes and with a little encouragement and perseverance, she is now thriving and looks forward to running out onto the mat each Monday. I speak highly to all my friends and family about how affordable and easy this has been for us all.

Our 5yo has been loving gymfun.. straight after after session he says... can I have more gymnastics? And literally counts down the days till the next one, great for little ones to burn some energy!
My 4.5 y/o boy and 2.5 y/o girl are absolutely loving their weekly gymnastics classes! We've enrolled them for a second term, and are likely to keep this up as their interest and ability grows. Their confidence has blossomed heaps over the term under Amanda's gentle instruction. The staff are excellent & the classes move at a really nice pace for the littlies - keeping their attention & interest in the activities at hand.
Our son Sebastian loves going to the gymnastics class - he is now very confident doing cartwheels and handstands and loves front flipping in the foam pit - The coaches are all very enthusiastic and helpful! Highly recommend going and trying out - being inside is fabulous also as Parents get to be inside dry or can zip off to the mall for a quick shop
My 3yr old LOVES her gymnastics class. She looks forward to it every week.
My 7 and 5 year old loved the day the spent at the gymnastics holiday programme. It was a nice change from their school holiday programme and we will definitely book more days here next holidays.
Having never had to do a holiday program before I was nervous about leaving my slightly anxious 6 year old there, but she loved it and couldn’t wait for the next day. She loved the craft activities and free play the best
My daughter thoroughly enjoys her time with the other girls in the group spent circling through the various Gymnastic apparatus becoming more confident and enthusiastic each week. The teachers are skilled and also cheerful whilst guiding and assisting each gymnast to ensure the correct techniques are taught and to avoid injury. Would recommend anyone interested in joining!
